Paulista de 22 anos, Pedro Sasso, a.k.a. Saci, vem se manifestando pelas ruas de São Paulo há um ano, principalmente, através do grafitti. Saci conversou com a gente sobre os símbolos, temas, motivações e anseios relacionados à sua arte. Mês passado, o sangue novo do movimento artístico urbano, ganhou espaço para expor seu trabalho de forma mais intimista na Casa do Lado, que está nos seus últimos dias.

J.P. Saci é uma espécie de alter-ego?
Saci Não digo alter ego, pois o nome surgiu do desmembramento do meu sobrenome Sasso.
J.P. De onde veio o Saci? Como aconteceu de você começar a pegar numa lata de spray, tinta, caneta etc para mostrar o que voce tinha pra mostrar? Há quanto tempo vem estampando pelos muros, paredes, tapumes de São Paulo? Que temas ou questões aborda?
Saci Comecei a me interessar pela arte de rua faz exatamente 1 ano quando o ambiente familiar já estava no fundo do poço. Não aguentava mais ouvir conselhos ditatoriais sobre o que deveria e não deveria fazer sobre a minha vida. Não aceitava o modo com que meus pais aceitavam e se acomodavam com o modo de viver. Era muito simples e racional! Por causa de tais fatores, senti a forte necessidade de sair desta rotina massante e me dedicar a algo que fizesse parte de mim, que me emocionasse… que o meu melhor fosse visto por todos!
J.P. Que temas ou questões aborda? Li em algum blog que você tratava de chamar a atenção/provocar o homem imerso no sistema da massificação. Qual é a reação que você espera desse homem? Existem elementos recorrentes em suas obras: a cruz, o olhar melancólico, corpos nus, orgaos sexuais. Existe um por quê deles?
Saci A partir daquelas experiências tristes com a minha família consegui sugar uma luz no fim do túnel, que se reflete no meu trabalho. Naquele momento, comecei a perceber que tal realidade encontrava-se em inúmeras vidas. Essa é razão da melancolia rotineira e acomodada presente nos meus rostos. Quero que a minha arte trabalhe como um espelho de motivação para que essa sociedade perceba o quão está reduzida a sua vida. É aí também que se baseia o uso da cruz, que hoje em dia infelizmente se tornou um símbolo de espera, de acomodação, de rotina. O sexo uso como forma de protesto. Se vê nos dias de hoje uma confusão total sobre esse assunto!
Outra forma de motivação gigante é o amor que tenho pela minha mãe. Apesar de ela não aceitar o meu modo de vida, creio que tenho a missão de abrir os olhos dela, que ja está cega de tanto não ver, E isso é um pecado imenso para uma mulher linda de 50 anos!
J.P. Você está agora expondo na Casa do Lado. Como rolou esse convite? Quais eram suas intenções com esse projeto?
Saci O convite rolou pela rua mesmo. O Olivio Neto, curador da galeira, gostou do meu trabalho passando por São Paulo e me convidou para expor.
O tema proposto se baseia sobre as minhas experiências de vida. O que retrato na rua, reproduzi nessa exposição em telas, desenhos e instalações. Exatamente o que falei anteriormente.
J.P. Houve alguma relação com a comunidade local?
Saci Infelizmente não senti tal recepção com os moradores locais. Creio que eles vivem em um inconsciente geral de estagnação. Gostaria que rolasse uma troca.
J.P. O que te comove como artista? Como rola o processo de criação?
Saci Como artista me comovo com a ação de produzir arte. Não digo o ato de pintar, cantar ou atuar. Mas sim o ato de receber prazer e amor incondicional pelo simples fato de existir, onde arte é o supra sumo da produção humana . O processo de criação se resume em deixar ser, em que tudo se produz e acontece fluidamente.
J.P. Quais os futuros projetos do Saci?
Saci Meu projeto futuro não conheço. Posso morrer daqui a 2 minutos. Não quero planejar nada…

Paulista 22 years, Pedro Sasso, aka Saci, has manifested itself through the streets of Sao Paulo for a year, mainly through graffiti. Saci talked with us about the symbols, themes, motives and desires related to his art. Last month, the new blood of the urban art movement, gained space to exhibit his work in a more intimate side in Casa do Lado gallery, that is in it’s last days.
J.P. Is Saci an alter ego?
Saci I wouldn’t say alter ego, since the name came from my last name Sasso.
J.P. Where do Saci come from? How did you start to pick up a can of spray, a brush, a pen, etc. to show what you have to show? For how long have you been stamping walls and fences in Sao Paulo? What themes or issues do you approach?
Saci I started to get interested in street art exactly one year agp when my relationship with my parents was in awful days. I couldn’t stand to hear dictatorial advice about what should and should not do on my own life. I didn’t accept the way my parents accommodated themselves to life. It was very simple and rational! Because of these factors, I felt a strong need to leave this boring routine and dedicate myself to something that was part of me and touch my feelings… my best to be seen by everyone!
J.P. What themes or issues do you talk about? I once saw somewhere that you was to point the man immersed in the mass system. What reaction do you expect of this man? There are recurring elements in your work: the cross, the melancholic look, naked bodies, sexual organs. Is there any reason for this?
Saci From those sad experiences with my family I managed to suck the light at the end of the tunnel, which is reflected in my work. At that moment, I realized that there was countless lives as mine. This is why the melancholy routine is always in my faces. I want my art to work as a mirror for motivating that society to realize how their life are reduced. This is also where the use of the cross is based, which today became a symbol of waiting, of accommodation and routine. The use of sex is a form of protest. You see today a total confusion on this subject! Another form of motivation is the love I have for my mother. Although she does not accept my way of life, I believe I have a mission to open her eyes, which is already so blind, and this is a shame for a beautiful woman in her 50s!
J.P. You are now exhibiting at Casa do Lado. How did they invite you? What were your intentions with this project?
Saci They invited me in the streets. Olíivio Neto liked my work through Sao Paulo and invited me to exhibit. The theme is based on my life experiences. What I use to picture on streets, I putted on screens, drawings and installations at this exhibition. Exactly what I said earlier.
J.P. Was there some xchange with the local community?
Saci Unfortunately I did not feel such reception with the locals. I believe they live in an unconscious general stagnation. I totally would like to exchange experiences with them.
J.P. What touches you as an artist? How the process of creation rolls ?
Saci As an artist I use to get touched by the action of making art. I do not mean the act of painting, singing or acting. But the act of receiving pleasure and unconditional love for the simple fact of living, where art is the greatest thing of human production. The creative process comes down to let it be, where everything happens and takes place smoothly.
J.P. What are your future plans?
Saci I don’t know what is my future plan. I could die in two minutes. I don’t want to make any plans…
